This 1200LB male and this 130LB Canadian Eskimo Dog live a coexistence understood by few in the traditional world of academia. Although this type of behavior is rare, it is not unheard of. The polar bear is from the K-9 family and has much in common with these Canadian Eskimo Dogs. This interesting camarederie developed gradually over a 3 year period between one male polar bear and one Canadian Eskimo Dog. The friendly behavior was eventually observed by other resident polar bears then replicated by at least 5 different polar bears and several dogs over the last 10-12 years. Sometimes strange circumstances make good bedfellows! |
