| These three Polar Bears are hunkering down for a good night sleep in the Boreal Forest near Western Hudson Bay. As you can see they were quite comfortable. The temperature was near minus-100 degrees Celsius with the wind-chill factor. The film in my camera kept breaking and the batteries were dying within 10-15 minutes of exposure. My fingers were numb to the point that I could not feel the release button on my cameras. My body was chilled to the bone, my sandwiches were frozen, I could barely feel my toes, my thermos of hot chocolate was cold and I had to make tracks before darkness because a snowstorm was approaching. "But hey, it was worth all of it and more"! |
