An illuminated Inukshuk:(figurine of a man made from balancing snow blocks or stones, one upon another) made from snow overlooks the Hudson Bay whilst the Aurora Borealis dances in the polar sky above. Inukshuks were once used by the Inuit people to ambush herds of caribou but are now more a cultural symbol of an ancient way of life, however many Inukshuks are still used today as a navigation beacon for those who journey on the vast polar landscapes of the Canadian Arctic. |
